The Friends & Family edition of the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP ‘Chicago’ is mostly unchanged from the retail version of the coveted collaboration, save for the addition of royal blue laces printed with the phrase ‘Rumor has it …’ The cryptic message is a reference to the shoe’s inspiration: the 1985 NBA All-Star Game, during which veteran players were rumored to have ‘frozen out’ Michael Jordan, the brash rookie who was seemingly stealing the national spotlight that weekend. In keeping with the theme, a subtle frozen finish is applied to the sneaker’s Varsity Red overlays, while the rubber outsole is given an icy translucent finish. MJ’s signature is scrawled on the lateral heel for a personal touch.
